I killed it.

From February’s Writing Prompts, February 9, 2016

I killed it…my pancreas. Well, I didn’t, but my body did. I didn’t consciously tell myself that I wanted my body to start attacking those cells. My brain and my body obviously were not on the same page and had different agendas. The body won. It dominated that fight and I got beat.

So now I have this thing called Diabetes. It still tries to defeat me, but I keep the diligence and fight it every day. It’s merciless, and one day, it may kill me.

But I’m looking forward to that day when I can say, “I killed it. I killed Diabetes.”
