From April’s Writing Prompts, April 3, 2016
Deep down, we are all superficial in some way. It’s human nature, right? We’ve all had a thought or two about those that seem beautiful to us on the outside. At times, it’s nice when people compliment you for your attractiveness, when it doesn’t seem as though it’s in a superficial way.
Does it really matter what a person looks like? Isn’t it better to know the real person behind those good looks? That “hunk” you think you’re admiring may have the most beautiful soul. Wouldn’t you rather know that beauty?
Dwell in their élan, not the exterior. You may just become a better person for it, and create your own beauty within.
“When you get to know someone, all their physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in their energy, recognize the scent of their skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. That’s why you can’t fall in love with beauty or looks. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. you can love it with your eyes and your body, but not your heart. That’s why when you really connect with a person, any physical imperfections disappear, become irrelevant.” ~Unknown
